RAPID CITY, S.D. — Police arrested a man they said tried to rob a hotel around 6 p.m. on Sunday with a butter knife. The clerk refused to give the man any money, and he left the hotel on foot. Police said about an hour later they spotted a man matching the description given by the clerk.
Officers arrested a 34-year-old man on a robbery charge. They said they also recovered the knife.
