This question has taken on added significance in recent years because of the massive impact televangelism has had on our culture. In all too may cases, worship has been replaced with entertainment, and fellowship has been transformed into individualism. In view of these cultural developments, it is critical that Christians have a handle on the ingredients of a healthy well-balanced church.

Why should anyone believe that what the Bible has to say is true? Isn’t the belief in the historicity of biblical texts similar to faith that Zeus reigned from Mount Olympus?

Conservatives have good reason to remain optimistic and hopeful with a number of positive developments in recent days showing a renaissance underway on the Right.
Following the drubbing we received in the 2008 elections (losing not just the White House to Barack Obama, but seeing Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid expand their majorities in Congress) things weren’t looking so great — there were many words written and said by conservative pundits decrying the sad state of affairs for right-thinking Americans. Some conservative pundits and leaders even jumped ship, preferring to seek out greener pastures on the other side of the fence. For the weak-willed ideological prostitutes who wanted to be “loved” rather than to fight for what they actually believed to be in America’s best interest their motivations seemed to be based on a sense that: The Other Man’s Grass is Always Greener. But of course, the point is that’s an allusion. The grass really isn’t greener on the other side, and Arlen Specter soon found that out for himself when he joined the Democrat Party only to discover that what looked to be fields of green on the ranch of Senate Democrats, were really nothing more than a wasteland of tumbleweeds being blown around by the harsh winds of political reality.
For those conservatives who stayed loyal to the cause, there are a number of promising developments that can fuel the soul and reinvigorate the heart to fight on against the liberals currently entrenched in our government.

1. RUDY GIULIANI
Republican presidential candidate
Giuliani makes our list despite his unorthodox brand of conservatism that is anathema to many on the Christian Right. Before 9/11, a thrice-married New Yorker in favor of abortion and gay rights and gun control would have struggled to survive the early stages of a Republican nomination [...]

President Obama’s remark that some Guantanamo detainees might be transferred to American prisons has prompted an extraordinary, and intellectually feeble, storm of protest. Former Vice President Dick Cheney kicked off the campaign when he said, during his May 21 speech at the American Enterprise Institute, that “to bring the worst terrorists inside the United States would be a cause for great danger and regret in the years to come.” Sitting lawmakers—especially those from states such as Kansas and Colorado where federal prisons are based—raised the same specter and shouted the ancient cry of principled rebellion: “Not In My Back Yard!”
